For some 20 years, I have had the honor and privlege to serve you through my civic participation. During this span of time, I have represented the best interests of all Chula Vista, not special interest groups. The training that I have received is unparalleled. Now I want to take this 20 years of training to your City Council and deliver the kind of leadership that will enable Chula Vista to evolve into a community that can flourish well into our new century.

Our city faces many challenges such as a tight budget cycle and numerous issues concerning western redevelopment. With these challenges our city has a greater number of opportunities in front of it. Fear should not be allowed to guide us. We must take full advantage of our opportunities and “Move Chula Vista Forward!”

I support the following:

• Quality bay front development
• Small business economic development
• The completion of the eastern technology center
• Successful attraction of a major university
• The responsible and prudent development of the western urban core
• Preservation and enhancement of our two major hospital centers

My top priorities will be:

• Preserving basic city services such as police, fire and road repair/upkeep. Public safety comes first.
• Spending your tax dollars wisely. We don’t spend what we don’t have.
• Keeping city government open, clean, honest and accessible to all. The work of the people should be done in front of the people.

Councilman Rindone Endorses Russ Hall

Chula Vista, CA—

Councilmember Jerry Rindone announced today his endorsement of City Council Candidate Russ Hall. If elected in November 2008, Hall will replace Rindone who has served eight years in Seat 3 on the Council. “It’s an easy decision for me to endorse Russ,” Rindone said. “We served many years together on the Park & Recreation Commission. I know first-hand Russ’s intellect, tenacity and insight to ask appropriate questions when analyzing complex issues,” Rindone noted.

Rindone also remarked that Russ’s experience in economic development and business are additional skills that will serve the community well in the future.

Hall currently serves as a Growth Management Oversight Commissioner in addition to over twenty years of civic experience including Chairman of the Planning Commission. The primary election will be held November 4, 2008.
